I am so excited to show you our new bathroom makeover! This was a fun redo that didn’t cost a lot of money. We were not up for a full demo but it was time for a new look.
My goal was to brighten the space up and add a little rustic charm to the space. I think I did it! The space seems bigger- simply because it is lighter.
It all started with the bathroom hardware. I had the opportunity to tour an amazing local gem Sampler Square- they specialize in home hardware- towel racks, handles, pulls, paper holders, door knobs….you get the idea. You can see the tour in the video below.
The shop is full of inspiration. I had a hard time walking out with just the hardware for our bathroom. After our visit, I wanted to change out the hardware in our entire house.
Instead I left with all new bathroom hardware. The pulls the first thing I chose. I love the rustic metal finish and old charm. Perfect for our new bathroom look.
Next up- the towel racks. We had a long pole for the hand towels and wanted to go with something a smaller- but for the bath towels I knew we need extra room.
This towel rack was just the thing. With the double row we added more space for our daughters to hang their bath towels. No more hanging their towels over the shower curtain.
Speaking of shower curtains, we replaced the striped colorful Pottery Barn curtain with a simple white curtain. We added a curved curtain rod to create that boutique hotel feel.
Before we changed the hardware out we had a lot of painting to do. We replaced the terra cotta paint with a pretty and bright blue gray color from Sherwin Williams called Silver Strand . Then we gave the vanity and cabinet a facelift with paint.
You can check out how I did it in this video. After prepping the cabinets, I primed them, and painted them with Sherwin Williams Pro Paint in the color.Mindful Gray
What do you think? I absolutely fell head over heels over the color.
We changed up the mirror- Why do builders install these plain mirrors? I found this charmer at Hobby Lobby. You can get your own here.
The light was a steal from Lowes. Perfectly matching the hardware this light is the perfect mix of industrial and farmhouse.
Finally, my husband and I replace the floor with these beautiful gray planks. They look like a mix of wide wooden planks and tile. Can you believe we ordered these floating planks from Wayfair? We never ordered flooring online before. We are totally up for doing this again. They make ordering flooring easy- we got the perfect amount and exactly the perfect product for the job.
Last up was the accessories- we added a few farmhouse favorites- a half windmill, olive buckets, boxwood, and my favorite faux Astilbe from Magnolia Hearth and Hand.
