Thanks to Pinterest and HGTV shows like Fixer Upper, vintage farmhouse style has become the trend to have in home decor. The farmhouse style is comfortable, inviting, and so easy to do, I think that is part of the appeal. Anyone can do it.
The farmhouse style connects us to a simpler time, to the outdoors, to a casual vibe. Three Painted Birds is a new small business that specializes in Farmhouse Vintage Home Decor. Our mission is to bring a beautiful collection of farmhouse style to homeowners. We search high and low to find great vintage pieces, architectural salvage, farmhouse inspired decor, and wonderful artisan created pieces, making that look easy for anyone to decorate their home in that style.
Three Painted Birds will set up shop in The Retreat at the Purple Goose in Verona, WI on March 2 and 3 for the 5th annual Vintage Shop Hop. We are so excited to add Verona to the Vintage Shop Hop list of stops. Verona is a great place to discover a new small business. Many new restaurants, stores, breweries, and shops have opened there in the last year making it the perfect stop for shoppers on March 2 and 3.
Shoppers can use the Vintage Shop Hop’s Google Map to plan their route for two days of great shopping and eating. I hope that shoppers will add Verona to their list of stops.
Besides finding great farmhouse vintage decor items, shoppers can stop at some great local businesses- shops and restaurants. We are pulling out all the stops. We will have refreshments and a raffle with shopping for many farmhouse vintage pieces for your home. Come for great ideas and leave with a few pretty new things for your home.
Shoppers will converge on northern Illinois and southern
Wisconsin for the 4th Annual Vintage Shop Hop on Friday and Saturday, March 2 & 3, 2018. Over 300 locally owned vintage shops, antique malls, boutiques, occasional and pop-up shops, barn sales, and restaurants in two states are rolling out the red carpet for customers with discounts, giveaways, raffle drawings, demos, ideas on repurposing old items, and more.
The shop hop is a self-guided road trip for vintage and antique lovers in the region. “The idea was simply to give the shopper a reason to call their friends and spend the day shopping for vintage decor in their own backyard,” says event organizer Ann Campos. “I wanted to make it easy for them to hop from shop to shop while supporting small businesses at the same time,” she said. She describes the event as a road trip shopping extravaganza and goes on to say that the hardest part for shoppers is deciding on which areas to travel to for their road trip fun.
In its fourth year, the Vintage Shop Hop has grown from 180 shops the first year to 350 last year. Campos says it very well could top those numbers this year. The events stretches across two states from the Mississippi River on the west to Lake Michigan on the east, goes north to the Fox Cities lake region in Wisconsin and south to approximately I-88 Illinois.
Each shop has an “in-store” promotion for the weekend. These small business owners have pulled out all the stops. Some have great discounts, contests, raffles, free gifts, and demos. All are ready and waiting to greet new faces to their businesses and provide the shoppers with the best in customer service. The idea is to get shoppers to not only hit the road for this event for the glorious vintage shopping but to also experience the variety of shop locations and settings.
Event organizers created a new feature to make navigating the event that much easier. An interactive
Google Map contains all of the shops with detail information that can be accessed on mobile devices while shoppers are traveling the area. The public is invited to create their own self-guided road trip for the shop hop weekend. All 300+ shops and link to the Google Map are listed on the event’s blog page and can be printed off www.vintage shophop.blogspot.com or follow the facebook page – HERE.
